Longworth Parish Church

Longworth is one of the seven churches in the United Benefice of Cherbury with Gainfield. The other churches in the Benefice are Buckland, Charney Bassett, Hinton Waldrist, Littleworth, Lyford and Pusey.

The Revd Neal Phair is the new Rector of the Benefice of Cherbury with Gainfield. Neal is married to Lucy and they have a little daughter called Emily. The Associate Priest is the Revd Joy Hance and Joy's husband Nick is licenced to Preach. Services are also taken by Tony and Sue Wales who are licenced to distribute Communion by Extension (Sue) and preach (Tony).

Sunday Services
These are held each week across the Benefice. There is a service in St. Mary's Church in Longworth on most Sundays. However, if there is no service in St. Mary's on a particular Sunday, you are encouraged to attend a service in one of the other churches in the benefice. There is a wide range of services, including 1662 Said Communion, All Age worship and Holy Communion (Common Worship).

United Benefice Services
These are held occasionally and are an opportunity for members of all the 7 churches to worship together.

Sunday School
Sunday School meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, starting at 10 a.m. in the church room. All children aged between 3 and 10 are very welcome. For more information contact Dee Tyrer on 01865 820570.

Morning Prayer
This is a short time of prayer held in the church each Tuesday morning at 9:15.

KHAOS
This is a special service for all children in the Benefice. KHAOS is on the 1st sunday in the month, 4.00-5.30pm for primary school children years 3-6, and 6.00-7.30pm for secondary school age. It meets in Charney Bassett. For more information, contact Lucy Gildersleeves 01235 868782.
