Lamb & Flag is re-born
The Lamb & Flag pub has a new landlord and will be re-opening in November 2009. James Lay grew up in the Lamb & Flag where his father Paul was the landlord until 25 years ago. After a very successful globe-trotting 12-year career as Cruise Director for Princess Cruises, James has returned to his former home and is busy re-furbishing the pub to a very high standard. James plans to serve both a Gastronomic Pub menu as well as an Authentic Thai menu, bringing some welcome additional variety to the local eating scene.

James is paying tribute to the well-known former landlord of the Lamb & Flag, Dirty Dudley, by naming one of the bars "Dudley's Bar". And he aims to revive the best aspects of Dudley's time at the Lamb & Flag by serving great food with a warm welcome. We wish him every good fortune in his new venture, and very much look forward to visiting the new Lamb & Flag when it opens in November.
