Sandpit - Site Plan
The photo below shows the area of land owned by Hanson Aggregates and intended for development as a sandpit. Sand is expected to be extracted from the entire site, with the exception of a 10-meter strip around the outside. Excavations will be up to 10 meters deep. Access for the 20-ton lorries used to take the sand away would be via the existing gate in the south-east corner of the site about 100 meters north of the A420.



The next photo shows how the site might be worked in a series of 8 phases. The red arrows show the proposed direction of working. Only one area would be open for excavation at a time. Previously worked areas would be restored to agricultural use. This photo also shows the 10-meter wide strip around the site, and the location of the access gate (in the red circle).
