Land not Sand - the Final Chapter
Hanson Aggregates has decided not to appeal the decision by Oxfordshire County Council to refuse their planning application for extraction of soft sand at the site they acquired alongside Pine Woods Road. The six month deadline to lodge an appeal has now expired, and a spokesman for Hanson explained that, given current low levels of construction work, it did not make sense to pursue this application any further.

A big thank you to all those who contributed their time and effort to the Land not Sand campaign. Longworth locals were resourceful and determined in their fight against this planning application, and we got the result that we all wanted. All that remains now is to see what Hanson does with the land that they acquired.
