Please see below just received, the recommendation will be formally considered at the 6 October meeting, there will be the opportunity for comments on the technical reports until the end of October, following which TW will publish final versions of the reports. This is clearly good news as you can see from the website the Longworth option fails to tick all the boxes!

I am writing further to our recent meeting and conversations on our Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP), and specifically the safeguarding of sites for a potential reservoir storage.
As you will know, over the past few months we have been undertaking detailed work to examine potential new water resources, including water transfers from other regions, desalination, water reuse and reservoir storage. The purpose of this work is to determine which options, and specific sites for options, are preferred and should be taken forward for further detailed work and consideration in our next WRMP.
As part of this detailed work we have been considering a number of potential reservoir sites, including a site north of Longworth.
We have recently completed 2 technical reports which set out the work completed, these are the Reservoir Feasibility Report and the updated Resource Option Screening Report. I am writing to let you know that these reports have proposed that the Longworth site should be screened out and removed from further consideration at this time.
Both reports are available to review and download from our website http://www.thameswater.co.uk/about-us/19527.htm. The work to date will also be presented at our technical stakeholder meeting on the 6 October 2016.
Going forward, we will undertake consultation on our draft WRMP early in 2018 and until we have finalised our plans we will continue to work with Councils to safeguard potential reservoir sites, including the Longworth site in the Local Development Plan. We do need to keep all reasonable options open, so we will continue to safeguard sites to ensure that they aren’t compromised from major development proposals.
