BT has started work to upgrade Longworth’s broadband infrastructure. This is a major step towards fulfilling their commitment to provide faster broadband service by the end of 2014.
Our eagle-eyed Longworth broadband champion, Richard Kenyon, took these photos of construction work taking place at Cabinet 3 in Longworth. Cabinet 3 is where most of Longworth’s phone lines are connected, and the photos show a new cabinet erected alongside the existing one. The new cabinet will house the fibre optic equipment that will bring faster broadband service to these lines.
We’re keeping a constant eye on BT’s announcements concerning availability of the upgraded service, and we’ll keep you posted.
