New venue for Longworth Fireworks

We hope you can join us for our 7th annual spectacular Longworth Fireworks display, being held once again in the centre of our village.

We have a different venue, most probably just for this year, but the entertainment remains the same! Our aim to provide a traditional, family friendly night out in a safe environment for all is maintained and along with our highly regarded fireworks there will be familiar fare such as delicious hog rolls and hot dogs available for purchase.

There will be a licensed bar with beer and wine, warming mulled wine or soft drinks, and this year coffee, tea and hot chocolate is also on offer!

Free parking is available within a very short walk of the display area and there is disabled/wheelchair access where needed.

The same professional firework display team will be there starting with another ‘children friendly’ display which is more colourful than noisy. This will be followed a little later again by a wonderfully spectacular ‘full-on’ display for all to enjoy.

We will have a bonfire, albeit slightly smaller than past years.

The event is promoted by The Friends of St Mary’s which is a charity specifically formed to raise funds for the repair and upkeep of the fabric of our lovely church. Whether you attend and enjoy it’s facilities or just admire it from a distance as you enjoy a walk by, this is a very important building for both those who live in Longworth or visit from afar. It is vital that the building is kept in good condition and to that end we now have a specific target to raise funds for essential roof repairs.

Our firework display continues to contribute to this cause and all funds raised go directly towards the building repairs. This night is part of a concerted fund raising effort in the coming weeks and months and all contributions are welcome.

Do spread the word and hopefully see you there!

We start at 6.30pm on Saturday November 1st and should finish at around 8/8.30. We very much hope you can join us. If you have any questions about the night then call David Cooke on 07974 926736

Thank you from The Friends of St Mary’s committee.
